Global leader in personal GPS systems Navman wanted to launch its M300 product with panache! Designed for windsurfers and watersports enthusiasts, the product gains fans when used. Working with the Maui Windsufing Association, WestGroup created the Navman Maui Speed Challenge, the first GPS speed sailing competition of its type. Held during a six week period over the summer, the event allowed sailors of like abilities to compete against themselves and each other. Each contestant had to use the Navman product to log speeds in some of the windiest and fastest conditions in the world. Results were posted and continually updated on the site created by WestGroup, www.mauispeed.com.

Immensely popular, “the Navman” drew amateurs and pro sailors of all ages, including legend Robby Naish. “The Navman unit seems better than the one I was training with. You can see the readout while you’re riding...and that’s killer!” he told event media. Money can’t buy endorsements like that!
